From October 19 to 30, 2026, Yerevan is hosting COP17, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. This major international gathering focuses on biodiversity conservation, responsible stewardship of nature, and stronger global cooperation.
For Alexandrea Winery, taking part in such a significant event was a valuable opportunity to introduce Armenian wine to an international audience. Conversations over wine led to engaging meetings and new connections, allowing us to share our winery’s story and the distinctive character of Armenian winemaking.
Winemaking is deeply connected to the natural environment. The land, climate, and diversity of grape varieties all play an essential role in shaping the character of wine. For Alexandrea Winery, whose philosophy begins in the vineyard, COP17 provided a meaningful context to highlight this connection between nature and Armenian winemaking.
Armenian wine brings together the stories of the land, the grapes, and the people who nurture them. Through our participation in COP17, we had the opportunity to share this connection with guests from around the world, introducing them to Armenia’s winemaking heritage and contemporary wines.
We thank the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia – Wines of Armenia for the initiative and collaboration, and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia for the opportunity to represent Armenian winemaking at its pavilion.
