Alexandrea Winery Joins Armenian Wine Week: Let’s Discover the World of Armenian Wine Together

Armenian winemaking has a history spanning more than 6,100 years, a rich heritage, and a unique identity. Today, it is time to share this remarkable story with the world.

From November 8–14, 2026, Armenian Wine Week will take place across the globe, bringing together wineries, industry professionals, Armenian communities, and wine enthusiasts around a shared mission: to raise international awareness of Armenian wine, showcase its diversity, and promote Armenian winemaking culture worldwide.

Alexandrea Winery is proud to join this initiative, believing that the future of Armenian wine is built through collective efforts and that our centuries-old heritage deserves recognition in every corner of the world.

One Week, One Great Mission

Armenia is one of the world's oldest cradles of winemaking. The discovery of a winemaking complex dating back more than 6,100 years in the Areni-1 Cave in the Vayots Dzor region demonstrates that wine has been an integral part of Armenian culture for thousands of years.

Today, Armenian winemaking is experiencing a remarkable renaissance. Indigenous grape varieties, high-altitude vineyards, distinctive terroirs, and modern winemaking approaches are helping Armenian wines gain increasing recognition in international markets.

But the story of Armenian wine is not only about the past. It is also about the future, new opportunities, international collaboration, and sharing our heritage with the world.

This is the very idea behind Armenian Wine Week.

Initiated by WineArmenia.org, with the support of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia and industry partners, this project aims to build a global community around Armenian wine, encourage people to discover Armenian wines, and inspire every participant to become an ambassador for Armenian winemaking culture.

The initiative seeks not only to tell the story of Armenian wine but also to encourage people to discover, taste, choose, and share it with those around them.

Two Bottles of Wine That Can Tell Armenia’s Story

A central element of Armenian Wine Week is the global #UncorkArmenia Challenge.

The idea is simple, yet meaningful.

  • Buy two bottles of Armenian wine. Explore the diversity of Armenian wineries and the wines they create.

  • Keep one bottle for yourself and gift the other to a non-Armenian friend. Let Armenian wine become a unique way to share our country's history, culture, and traditions.

  • Invite three Armenian friends to join the challenge. Together, we can share the story of Armenian wine with new people, in new cities, and in new countries.

Every bottle purchased, every gift shared, and every tasting creates an opportunity to introduce Armenian wine to someone new.

The initiative will culminate on November 14 with International Areni Day, dedicated to one of Armenia's most iconic indigenous grape varieties.
